Late Reverend Father Shri. Maskuji Biruji Burungale Education Society’s Shri. Dnyaneshwar Maskuji Burungale Science & Arts College, Shegaon is a multi faculty premier institution of higher learning, with an enrolment of more than 700 students is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The College was established in 1st September 2000 with Science Faculty and in 2006 Art Faculty was introduced. The College offers Under Graduate Programmes in Science and Arts and Certificate courses in Soil Testing, Chemical Processing and Desk Top Publishing (DTP) approved by Adult and Continuing Education Department of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati along with regular curriculum.
The College is spread over an area of 5 acres of land (including School & Jr. College) in the prime location of Shegaon city and developed as an eco-friendly campus.
The College has a vibrant work-culture and a holistic approach to education is encouraged. The teaching – learning process is supported by the use of ICT, interactive exercises, projects, assignments, etc in addition to chalk and talk method. The results have always been higher than the University average results. In extra-curricular activities including NSS and Sports, etc., the performance of students is excellent. Students of College figure in the University merit list.
Research is an integral part of teaching. 3 faculty members are Ph.D. Guides. Many are working on research projects and have published a number of research papers in national and international journals. The College has signed MoU with a few colleges & University collaborative research. We, at SDMB College, remain committed to the cause of higher education, catering to the diverse needs of the students and enabling them to develop as intellectually alive, and socially – responsible citizens ready for continuous and professional growth.
